What TikTok shows the creator
In Creator tools, a TikTok creator sees aggregate counts only — total views, likes, comments, shares and saves. The shares number bundles every in-app share and every tap of the native download button, but TikTok never reveals the username or account behind any single download or save. There is no notification, no DM, no inbox entry and no analytics row that says "user X downloaded this video".

Native download vs SnapTok — privacy comparison
The native TikTok download button does not name you, but it does bump the public shares counter on the video. What about screen recording?
TikTok does not notify the creator when you screen-record a video, a Live broadcast or a Story. That puts TikTok closer to Instagram Reels (no notification) and unlike Snapchat snaps (which do notify). Screen recording is allowed at the OS level — the creator simply has no way to tell.
